Four...count 'em...Four layouts!

Last week I started a new class over at Big Picture Classes called Sketch Solutions
The class shows you how to adapt sketches to fit your needs, how to adjust for different photo sizes and orientations. Maybe you just want to use a certain embellishment on your layout but the original sketch doesn't allow for that, Donna Jannuzzi is showing us how to remedy those kind of things.
It's a great class!

I was out of town attending the fabulous wedding of my niece, Tori, last weekend and ended up playing a bit of catch-up yesterday. I managed to complete FOUR layouts.
I'm sure that's some kind of record for me.

This was my "practice" layout-
Supplies: Bazzill- Echo Park-Twine- Wooden Buttons- Enamel Dots

Lesson 1:
I've used these photos of Mason so many times, but they are some of my favorites, so I say go for it!
Supplies: Bella Blvd- Enamel Dots- Silhouette Cameo

Lesson 2:
This lesson called for a 5X7 photo. I don't usually have enlargements on hand,
so I used Brody's birth announcement. It was the perfect size.
I can't believe this little guy will be a year old this week! EEK!
Supplies: Bella Blvd-American Crafts-Washi Tape-Enamel Dots-Bazzill

Lesson 3:
I kind of wanted an "Americana" feel for this one...Not sure I accomplished that, but it was still a lot of  fun to do!
Supplies: Lily Bee Design-Bazzill-Brad-Silhouette Cameo

So there you have it, four layouts!
Maybe the key to keeping the blog updated it to take more classes!

Have a WONDERFUL day and thanks for stopping by!

NSD is coming!

Just a quick, two page layout I made yesterday, using some cute pictures from Easter weekend.
Supplies: Almost everything came from the "That's My Boy" Collection from Echo Park.
The letter stickers came from American Crafts, Jillibean Soup and Prima, The wood veneer stars are from Studio Calico.
Sketch from May Flaum

On a completely different note, National Scrapbook Day and Cinco De Mayo are right around the corner.
Is it really just a coincidence that they are so close together? I think not!

Many places online are celebrating our favorite "Scrappy" holiday, including Scrapbook Generation.
They have all kinds of fun things planned and even some great discounted shopping opportunities, and we all LOVE those!

Winner, winner, paper trimmer...that just cracks me up...
I know I'll be stopping by to join in on the fun!
So make those plans for NSD and maybe have a margarita, too...after all, we are celebrating!

Have a fantastic day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Simple Stories "Summer Paradise" Collection

On an ordinary day, I really enjoy using Simple Stories papers to scrapbook with, but throw in the bright colors of summer and a beach theme and I am in heaven!

Here are a few layouts I've completed recently using the Simple Stories "Summer Paradise" Collection.
I created this double page layout using a sketch from SCRAPBOOK GENERATION.
Their sketches make it so easy to put together a layout when you love the paper,
but you're short on time or ideas.
(excuse the VERY crooked photo. I "must" get better at photographing my layouts!)

I really love this photo of my oldest grandson, Tatum, (Thank you, Rebecca)
and wanted to create a page that would do it justice.

I just love how it turned out!

The final layout is an 8.5 X 11 page, also of Tatum.
I was so inspired by this process video I saw on YouTube,
I cut the scraps from the previous layout into hexagons and just had fun with it.
I kinda love this one, too!

I highly recommend subscribing to Robin's Channel, she's very entertaining, and her pages are great.

Thanks so much for stopping by...and enjoy today!

Throw Back Thursday?

Some friends and I were recently discussing our favorite layouts. After much searching, I found two pages that I still really love!

The first one is from the summer of 2011-
I used Basic Grey's "Shine On" Collection for this layout.
I really love this photo of the boys at the beach, and the colors just seemed to work so well with the whole feel of the page.

My other favorite is another beach layout from 2012. Beach photos tend to be my favorites.
(I just love this picture of Mason...)
This page mostly used the Jillibean Soup "Monster Stew" line.

It's really funny to me that both layouts used circles in the design, as I rarely use them in my day to day scrapbooking. Maybe I need to add circles to my pages more often?

So, do you have a favorite? Dig thru those albums and find the layouts you love, see what they have in common. Maybe you'll be surprised, too!

Thanks for stopping by...enjoy your day! :)
