The August Issue of CREATE is here!

Once again it's time to kick back with a nice, tall glass of lemonade 

and drool over this months issue of CREATE magazine.

 I must admit, I deviated just a little from the kit
I created...but it's all from my stash anyway...right?

Summer squeeze part 2!

Here are just a few more layouts using this months "Use Your Stash" kit-

This page uses mostly left-overs from the previous two pages I made.

 What is it about a sunset that just make you want to take pictures?

I'm a sucker for the sunset shots.

I almost used a full sheet of vellum on this layout, completely unheard of for me!

 This was a fun page, I even used  a couple of stamps and a punch or two.

These are also great colors for my "boy" pages. Quite the bonus around here...

The final layout, once again makes use of those little left over pieces.

 I cut several small squares and then simply cut them again

(corner to corner) to make the small triangles.

 This used up even the tiniest bits of paper, but still gave the page a slightly different look.

I used sketch #324 from Nuts About Sketches for this layout.

Working with this kit has really been a lot of fun and a bit of a challenge.

 I have used some things that have been in my supplies for a very long time

...and that is all good!

Scrap Stash Layouts

This week I have been inspired by the fabulous Margarita 

over at Use Your Stash, to make my own kit.

I loved the bright colors and have been happily scrapping away all week.

Here are a couple of layouts I made with the kit I created-

The idea is to use up those older products that we all just had to have.

The orange brads on this first page are at least 6 years old.

They look much better on a layout than they did in my brad tin.

I created this layout using mostly scraps from the first page.

I added a few things, including the large flair badge, I bought ages ago.

I really love the concept of "shopping your stash" and creating kits and layouts from things you already have on hand.

 We bought it, we must have loved it, right?

Long time - no blog....

I know right?

In my defense, I spent the last week at the beach with my family,

and I'm playing a little bit of catch up this week.

The good news is, the new CREATE magazine is here!

July's magazine is full of great ideas and wonderful articles! 

This month begins a three part series on creating your own kits

written by the very talented Janet (aka Cherrypicker).

A MUST read, in my opinion!

 I have a single page layout in this months color challenge.

It's time for CREATE!

You can tell summer is in full swing. It has been crazy around here for the last couple of weeks, just crazy!

Earlier this week Scrapbook Generation released the latest issue of  CREATE Magazine.

This issue is jam packed with tons of fun projects and loads of inspiration.

Sketch Solutions - Lessons 4, 5, & 6

I used photos of Tatum and my nephew Andrew. 

The boys get along so well...a relationship worth documenting!

We had such a wonderful time at my niece's wedding a couple of weeks ago,

Sketch 6-

The challenge with these Easter photos was to turn a 12X12 sketch into a 

8.5X11 layout. 

This was a simple way to adapt the sketch and a lot of fun to do.

Four...count 'em...Four layouts!

Last week I started a new class over at Big Picture Classes called Sketch Solutions. 

The class shows you how to adapt sketches to fit your needs, how to adjust for different photo sizes and orientations. Maybe you just want to use a certain embellishment on your layout but the original sketch doesn't allow for that, Donna Jannuzzi is showing us how to remedy those kind of things.
It's a great class!

 I was out of town attending the fabulous wedding of my niece, Tori, last weekend and ended up playing a bit of catch-up yesterday. I managed to complete FOUR layouts.
I'm sure that's some kind of record for me.

This was my "practice" layout-

Supplies: Bazzill- Echo Park-Twine- Wooden Buttons- Enamel Dots

Lesson 1:

I've used these photos of Mason so many times, but they are some of my favorites, so I say go for it!

Lesson 2:

This lesson called for a 5X7 photo. I don't usually have enlargements on hand, 

so I used Brody's birth announcement. It was the perfect size.

I can't believe this little guy will be a year old this week! EEK!

Lesson 3:

I kind of wanted an "Americana" feel for this one...Not sure I accomplished that, but it was still a lot of  fun to do!
